 Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila (thakurgaon district) area 683.45 sq km, located in between 25°40' and 25°59' north latitudes and in between 88°15' and 88°22' east longitudes. It is bounded by atwari and boda upazilas on the north, pirganj (thakurgaon) and birganj upazilas on the south, Boda, debiganj and Birganj upazilas on the east, baliadangi and ranisankail upazilas on the west.

Population Total 504428; male 260515, female 243913; Muslim 369486, Hindu 129794, Buddhist 3614, Christian 38 and others 1496. Indigenous communities such as santal, oraon, munda, Mushar and rajbanshi belong to this upazila.

Water bodies Main rivers: tangon, nagar, Kulik, Pathari; Ulir Beel is notable.

Administration Thakurgaon Sadar Thana was formed in 1800 and it was turned into an upazila in 1984.

Baliadangi Upazila (thakurgaon district) area 284.12 sq km, located in between 25°59' and 26°12' north latitudes and in between 88°10' and 88°22' east longitudes. It is bounded by west bengal of India and atwari upazila on the north, ranisankail upazila on the south, thakurgaon sadar upazila on the east, West Bengal of India on the west.

Population Total 169771; male 87997, female 81774; Muslim 135726, Hindu 32682, Buddhist 1116, Christian 11 and others 236.

Water bodies Main rivers: Tirnai, Kulik, Nagar.

Administration Baliadangi Thana was formed in 1806 and it was turned into an upazila on 2 July 1983.

Haripur Upazila (thakurgaon district) area 201.06 sq km, located in between 25°47' and 26°00' north latitudes and in between 88°05' and 88°15' east longitudes. It is bounded by west bengal state of India and ranisankail upazila on the north, West Bengal state of India on the south, Ranisankail upazila on the east, West Bengal state of India on the west.

Population Total 128289; male 65826, female 62463; Muslim 116150, Hindu 11597, Buddhist 160 and others 382. Indigenous communities such as santal, oraon, Munda and Musahar belong to this upazila.

Water bodies Main rivers: nagar, Kulik; Gargaria Beel is notable.

Administration Haripur Thana was formed in 1914 and it was turned into an upazila in 1983.

Hats, bazars and fairs Hats and bazars are 20, fairs 18, most noted of which are Ranisankail Hat, Nekmarad Hat, Balidara Hat, Bharnia Hat, Maharaj Hat, Bagradangi Hat, Council Hat, Sidhar Hat, Gazir Hat, Nekmarad Mela, Gorakai Bannir Mela and Katihar Maghi Mela.

''Main exports ' Paddy, rice, pulse, potato, mango, jackfruit, watermelon, litchi.

Access to electricity All the unions of the upazila are under rural electrification net-work. However 10.64% of the dwelling households have access to electricity.

Sources of drinking water Tube-well 96.61%, tap 0.07%, pond 0.24% and others 3.08%.

Sanitation 4.2% (rural 3.3% and urban 12.68%) of dwelling households of the upazila use sanitary latrines and 29.22% (rural 27.71% and urban 43.59%) of dwelling households use non-sanitary latrines; 66.58% of households do not have latrine facilities.
