Chandpur is situated in the end of Padma, Meghna, Dakatia, rivers. There is a discord on historical about the name of chandpur. Historic J N Gupt assumed that Chandpur name is sourced from land lord of Chand Roy. Again some people has idea chandpur name is come from saint Chand Fakir. Again Chand Merchant used to come to river port for trading. Possibly by his name this port has been Chandpur.
