Laxmipur is situated in the joint centre of Bay of Bengal and Meghna. Many historians have different comments about name of Laxmipur. There was a king named Raja Gouro Kishor Ray Chowdhury om 1765. Laxmipur is named after Laxminarayan, a family member of Raja Gouro Kishor Ray Chowdhury.
